Recommender systems, while beneficial, face issues like filter bubbles and polarization. These problems arise because user preferences and creator content are not static; they influence each other, creating feedback loops. This dual influence is particularly problematic, as users’ preferences shift based on what’s recommended, and creators adapt their content to attract more users.
